Old Man Winter
by Jenni
Old Man Winter finally made a noteworthy appearance here in the northwest. Here are a few photos I snapped around the place of his handiwork.
I love the snow and have been singing, “Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!” Seth had a snow delay at work, so he got to sleep in a bit and make us breakfast in bed this morning, yay! But now it’s raining and melting, which is not quite so lovely. Oh well, good weather for staying cozy inside and being grateful for a warm house. Wherever you are, I hope you’re staying warm!
I am officially in love with your barn. And your hens.
Love your winter!
Thanks, Calista! I had chickens as a kid and always wanted to get them again. These hens have personality plus. They’re Ameracaunas and lay greenish blue eggs (although not very many of them).
I love the one that’s third from the left – she has some beautiful feathers!
That is Brave Matilda. She is the leader of the bunch. It’s interesting because her coloring was much more blonde before she molted this fall; since then, the feather’s took on that more grey shade. Either way, she’s a beauty, and I’ll tell her you thought so, too. 🙂
Loving your high key pictures. The barn photo would deserve some leveling (to me it tilts to the left), as it is a gorgeous shot. Take care Jenni 🙂
Thanks, Madman. You are right about the barn photo. I used to use a simple editing program on my pc, but haven’t found one for my Mac. Any suggestions (free is preferred)? This Mac is older & didn’t come with iPhoto.
Love the photos. That barn is so cool and Winston the dog with his ears up made me laugh. Your chicken picture makes me want to have chickens. You need to get a photo of the white one up in the tree. Cracks me up. Love that farm!
I love your barn too! And your animals…
Our weather has been fairly dramatic- Check out my Wordless Wednesday: January Weather post:
